Patagonia Ecoliving & Farm

Are you thinking of a visit to Patagonia and all of us at Patagonia EcoLiving and Farm? We are amidst Andean snow-capped mountains, outside of the city of Coyhaique, population 50,000. In the Tehuelche language, Coyhaique means “place of water”. It is an ideal central destination for adventure tourism in Patagonia due to the beauty of the land and the waters of Lago General Carerra, Elizalde and Paloma, Frio, Pollux and Castor Lakes and the River Simpson. We warmly welcome you and would love to host you in one of our yurts, show you the farm, land and home parcels, and recommend some must-see Patagonian sites.

FLY & DRIVE

Through Santiago to Balmaceda International Airport
The most direct option is flying from Santiago south to Balmaceda International airport 2h20. Balmaceda is a great pickup point for a rental car or truck and then an easy scenic drive to Coyhaique. The drive from Balmaceda to the city of Coyhaique is 51 minutes and another remaining 20 minutes from Coyhaique to the farm.

FLY & SCENIC DRIVE

Fly Through Santiago and Drive
From Santiago, there are flights of approximately 1h40 south to Puerto Montt. From there, rent a car, truck or camper and drive the Carretera Austral to the community. The Austral is spectacular, crossing fjords, lakes and national parks, such as the famous Pumalín Douglas Tompkins National Park. By car, the journey on the Austral takes approximately 15h. Well worth the drive to sight-see, camp or hotel and take lots of memorable photos.

Bus from Puerto Montt to Coyhaique
Another scenic, but slower route is to take Kemel bus from Puerto Montt to Chaiten. It’s 10h of spectacular scenery mixed with ferry and fjord crossings. Then overnight in Chaiten and the next day ride bus Becker to Coyhaique.
